Touchdown Taylor
Senior running back Chris Taylor's one-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter against Minnesota (11/5) was the first rushing touchdown for Indiana since Oct. 15 at Iowa. He followed that up with a two-yard run in the fourth quarter, marking the first time in his career he has rushed for more than one touchdown in a game.
Taylor's two touchdowns brought his season total to four, setting a new a single-season career high for Taylor. His previous season best came in 2004 when he scored three times on the ground.
Ground Gains
When Chris Taylor scored on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter vs. Minnesota (11/5), it gave the Hoosiers their third rushing touchdown of the game. Taylor scored on a six-yard burst earlier in the game and quarterback Blake Powers added a one-yard quarterback keeper in the second quarter to account for IU's other rushing scores. This marked the first time this season IU rushed for three scores in a contest and the first time since Sept. 6, 2004 (4 rushing touchdowns against Central Michigan) that IU had three or more rushing scores in a game.
Sharing The Ball
Quarterback Blake Powers hit 10 different receivers during the game against Minnesota (11/5) for 26 completions. It was the most receivers that Powers connected with in a single game this season. Eight different IU receivers caught passes against Kentucky (9/17), Illinois (10/8), Ohio State (10/22) and Michigan State (10/29).
Meyers Making His Mark
Junior safety Will Meyers led the Hoosiers with 12 tackles against the Golden Gophers (11/5), one shy of his career high. Meyers' 10 solo stops were a career best.
The Chesterfield, Mo., native has been one of the most consistent players on the defensive side of the ball as of late. Over the last four contests, Meyers has 50 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery. During the stretch, he has moved into a share of the team lead with Kyle Killion with 66 tackles and holds the top spot with 51 solo stops. Meyers also is tied for 15th in the Big Ten in total tackles.
Grosfield Getting It Done
Troy Grosfield came to Indiana in 2002 as a kicker, and he handled kickoffs for the Hoosiers as a redshirt freshman in 2003. Grosfield has since found a home in the secondary. He saw action in the defensive backfield in seven games in 2004, and he has started six of the last seven games. Grosfield matched a career high, which he set earlier this season at Wisconsin (10/1), with eight tackles vs. Minnesota (11/5). The Littleton, Colo., product is currently tied for fourth on the club with 41 stops and his 32 solo tackles rank fifth.
Moving Up The Charts
Quarterback Blake Powers and receiver James Hardy broke into Indiana's top 10 single-season passing and receiving lists, respectively, in several categories at Michigan State (10/29) and kept moving up the charts against Minnesota (11/5). In addition to holding the school-record touchdown total (21), Powers now sits fifth with 191 completions and 333 attempts on the year.
Along with moving into a tie for second with 10 touchdowns this season, Hardy is third on the single-season list with 57 receptions and fifth with 855 yards.

• are 31-7 when they lead at the end of the first quarter

Hardy In the Books
James Hardy, who also is a walk-on forward on the IU basketball team, caught two touchdown passes at Wisconsin (10/1) and versus Illinois (10/8). The last IU player to corral two scores in back-to-back ballgames was Jerry Dorsey (1999) at Iowa (10/23) and versus Michigan (10/30).
In addition, Hardy's 10 touchdowns are third among all freshmen nationally.
