Zmijewski Nabs NSCAA/adidas Honor

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Kristen Zmijewski of the Indiana women's soccer earned third team NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I Women All-Great Lakes Region announced the NCAA today. Zmijewski also garnered first team All-Big Ten Conference, conference Sportsmanship award and Academic All-Big Ten honors.
"This is a great honor and reward for Kristen," head coach Mick Lyon said. `"Kristen is one of Indiana's most outstanding female student-athletes and has been a tremendous soccer player for IU. For her to receive this honor her senior year is a fitting way to end her outstanding career. The coaching staff is glad to see her get recognized for her talents and accomplishments."
This is Zmijewski's first selection to the all-region team and the Hoosiers third in a row (Kim Grodek, 2003-04).
The Aurora, Ill., native garnered the honor after leading the Hoosier offense with six goals and two assists for a total of 14 points on the season. Zmijewski finished the season first on the team in goals and points and tied for second in assists.
