Indiana Head Coach Mike Davis
Opening Statement:
MD: "I thought that we did a great job tonight coming back after such an emotional game on Wednesday night. Eastern Michigan had a great game plan; it doesn't hurt when they have [Assistant Coach] Dusty May sitting over there knowing everything that we are going to do. They were able to make some shots and you have to give them credit, coming in here and playing with the gameplan they needed to play with. I told the team that it is fun when other teams try and slow us down. This was a just a great game for us to have after Wednesday's game."
On the play of Freshman Forward Ben Allen:
MD: "Ben is very good. He can really shoot the basketball. Since [Sean] Kline is out, I intended on playing him tonight no matter what. He stepped up and made some plays scoring 15 points in 23 minutes. Coach Rupp has done a great job with Ben by improving his post game. He played very well tonight."
On the play of Sophomore Forward/Guard Robert Vaden:
MD: "He is a great passer and understands the game. Sometimes he has got to create shots for himself because he is the player that we need to score 16-18 points a game. He is always looking to pass the ball because he is such an unselfish player. I thought that he played great tonight scoring 18 points and seven assists."
On the play of Eastern Michigan Senior Forward John Bowler:
MD: "He averages 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. How many players do you know that can average 20 and 10? He would be one of the best players in any conference that he played in."
On the Hoosiers upcoming game against Indiana State:
MD: "They are a very well coached team. It is going to be a very emotional game for them after beating us the last time we played them there. This is a game in which we have to go in and concentrate because there is going to be an unbelievable atmosphere for them. We look forward to going there and playing against a very good team."
On achieving his 100th win as Head Coach of Indiana:
MD: "It feels very good to get my 100th win tonight. While I wish that it could have happened last year, I am very proud of this basketball team. They all shook my hand after the game."
