Hoosiers Shocked By Sycamores

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State's two-man show was better than Indiana's defense in the second half Tuesday.
David Moss and Tyson Schnitker combined for 28 of Indiana State's 42 second-half points and they led the Sycamores to a 72-67 come-from-behind upset of No. 18 Indiana.
Moss finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Schnitker scored a career-high 19 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Indiana State (4-0) to its third victory in the last four meetings with Indiana. Indiana State is off to its best start in 20 years, and the students celebrated by storming the court and dancing for several minutes.
Indiana (4-2) got a career-high 21 points and seven rebounds from freshman Ben Allen. Robert Vaden added 12 points.
Moss and Schnitker led a furious rally, charging back from an 11-point deficit early in the second half. Schnitker started the comeback by hitting a 3 and finished the 18-2 run with a breakaway layup to give Indiana State a 48-43 lead with 13:18 remaining.
The Hoosiers, who had 22 turnovers, were out of sync most of the night. Indiana State took advantage by methodically extending the lead to as much as 63-52 with 6:05 left when Moss scored on a putback.
Indiana finally responded late. The Hoosiers scored nine straight points to get within 63-61 and were as close as 68-67 when Earl Calloway hit two free throws with 34 seconds left.
But the Sycamores closed it out when freshman Jay Tunnell made two free throws with 6.6 seconds left, as the Hoosiers lost for the second time in a week.
