Every week of the Indiana wrestling regular season schedule, IUHOOSIERS.com will highlight the past or current performance of a Hoosier grappler. This week, IUHOOSIERS.com will spotlight sophomore Blane Culp and his efforts to go 8-9 in his first four competitions as a Hoosier.

So far in 2005-06, sophomore Blane Culp has posted one top-eight finish at the Michigan State Open. Overall, Culp has compiled an 8-9 record across four tournaments (Eastern Michigan, MSU Open, Missouri Open, Mat Town Invitational). At the MSU Open, Culp went 3-3 en route to the medal stand, posting three decisions in the process.
On the season at 125 pounds, Culp has claimed one victory by fall and seven by decisions. Culp's sole fall came against Mike Bock of Mac Murray at 1:38, marking his first pin of his collegiate career. In his toughest match to date, the Columbia City, Ind., native took a hard-fought loss to 18th-ranked Obenson Blanc (Lock Haven) in the first round of the Mat Town Invitational.
