Miller Leaves IU WBB Program

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-- Indiana freshman guard Tara Miller has decided to leave the Indiana women's basketball program for personal reasons, IU coach Sharon Versyp announced today. Miller will finish up the first semester at IU before pursuing other collegiate opportunities.
"We respect Tara's wishes," Versyp said. "She is a player who has potential and we wish her the best of luck in the future."
Miller, a 5-10 guard from Ramsey, Ind., saw action in one game this season, scoring two points and recording one assist in three minutes of action against Youngstown State on Nov. 25.
A product of North Harrison High School, Miller was forced to sit out her senior year due to a knee injury, but still managed to rehabilitate from her injury to make the Indiana All-Star squad. She was chosen as a junior Indiana All-Star in 2004, and a third team Associated Press selection.
During her junior year at North Harrison, Miller ranked among the state's leading scorers among juniors, averaging 16.9 points, 6.6 assists and 4.2 steals per game.
