Louisville Match Notes

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 70 Indiana men's tennis team will look to snap a three-match skid this weekend with a home contest against No. 26 Louisville. The Hoosiers will host the Cardinals on Friday, Feb. 18, at 4 p.m., in the IU Varsity Tennis Center. Friday night's match is part of the Hoosiers' "Dinner With Doubles" event held annually. The cost of admission to the contest is $6 and includes an all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut Buffet (pizza, salad and soft drinks).

***With a pair of wins over the weekend, the doubles tandem of freshmen Michael McCarthy and Dara McLoughlin is now 4-0 on the spring. McLoughlin is 7-0 overall in tandem action after registering three wins this fall with junior Neil Kenner. McCarthy has an overall mark of 9-2 in the paired play.
***Senior Jakub Praibis defeated No. 82 Conor Taylor of then-No. 57 N.C. State, 3-6, 7-5, 7-5, on Feb. 13. It was the third ranked foe that the Litomerice, Czech Republic, product has bested this spring. He downed No. 77 Stephen Bass of then-No. 34 Notre Dame, 6-4, 7-5, on Feb. 22, and No. 68 Andreas Siljestrom of then-No. 54 Middle Tennessee State, 7-6, 4-6, 7-5, on Feb. 5. Praibis has now beaten 10 ranked opponents for his career. He vanquished a pair last year and five as a sophomore.
***With Friday's match against No. 26 Lousiville, the Hoosiers will play their fourth ranked foe in a row. Indiana is in the midst of a stretch where it plays seven ranked opponents in eight matches. The next four matches against teams holding a national ranking will be in the friendly confines of the IU Varsity Tennis Center.
