IU Heads to Tulsa

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana softball team travels to the central time zone for the second consecutive weekend as the Hoosiers head to Oklahoma to participate in the Holiday Inn-Select Tulsa Festival. The tournament gets underway on Friday, Feb. 25, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 27.
THE HOLIDAY INN-SELECT TULSA FESTIVAL
IU will open the tournament with Drake on Friday, Feb. 25, at 9 a.m., and Colorado State at 11 a.m. Indiana will play another two-team doubleheader on Saturday as the Cream and Crimson square off with Western Illinois at 9 a.m., before a showdown with host Tulsa at 5 p.m. The weekend finale on Sunday will pit IU against Akron at 1 p.m. All the games in the tournament will be available on gametracker through the Tulsa website. ROARK PITCHES NO-HITTER
Junior Megan Roark pitched her first career no-hitter against Southern University as the Hoosiers shutout the Lady Jaguars, 7-0, on Feb. 18, at the Tiger Classic. Roark went the distance, striking out seven batters while allowing just two walks. The no-hitter was the 18th in the history of Indiana and the first since Alison Cooke threw one against Miami (Ohio) University on April 24, 2001, a Hoosier 1-0 victory.
A LONG TIME BETWEEN WINS
Senior Katie Witham earned the win in Indiana's 8-0 victory over Grambling State. She tossed the complete game shutout going five innings, allowing just three hits. She also struck out one with three walks. The win was Witham's first since April 19, 2003, her sophomore year, when she picked up the victory in an IU 5-2 win against Ball State, a span of 79 games.
HUDDLESTON ON A TEAR
After hitting .357 with two RBI and three runs scored in the first collegiate weekend of play, freshman Jennilee Huddleston followed that with a .300 performance at the Tiger Classic. For the year, Huddleston is hitting .333 with a home run, three RBI and six runs scored. She has only struck out one time this season in 24 at-bats.
