Richmond Wins LJ Title @USA's

BOSTON, Mass.--IU graduate assistant jumps coach and 2004 Olympian Rose Richmond, captured the title in women's long jump at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at Roxbury Community College.
Richmond, a former All-American jumper at Indiana posted a mark of 6.44m/21-1.50 in her last attempt.
This past summer, the St. Petersburg, Fla., native became just the second female IU track and field athlete ever to compete at the Olympics. She narrowly missed the cut to the finals of the women's long jump at the 2004 Olympics, with a 20th-place finish overall in the qualifying round with a leap of 6.46m/21-2.25.
