"I think this was a very difficult golf course," Indiana head coach Clint Wallman said. "It is the hardest golf course we have faced all year and one of the hardest I have been involved with as a college coach. The team came away from the experience with some positive gains. We saw it as a learning experience to prepare us for a difficult course at Ohio State for the conference championship."
Junior Molly Redfearn paced the squad with a 38th-place tying 245 (85-76-84), while senior Bethany Brunner notched a 257 (87-87-83) to tie for 67th place. Additionally, freshman Elaine Harris registered a 261 (89-84-88) to finish in a 72nd-place tie, while senior Katie Carlson carded a 79th-place 266 (84-89-93). Freshman Stephanie Mayotte rounded out the IU effort with a 274 (90-95-89) to finish in a tie for 80th place.
"We are learning how to be patient, play our own game and take advantage of the situations that are in front of us," Wallman said. "We played well. The golf course was really hard to get up and down on if you missed a shot. I could not be more proud of the effort my team put through. They looked at it as an opportunity to learn and prepare for what we have coming up."
Next up, the Cream and Crimson head to Henderson, Nev., to battle for the UNLV Spring Invitational title from March 13-15, before returning home April 2-3 to play host to the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.
