WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - During the final day of competition at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in the Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind., senior Marc Carlton claimed his 23rd event title of the season, and second in two days, by winning the platform crown with 595.95 points. Additionally, sophomore Brian Mariano placed second with a 517.45 and Northwestern's Mike Oxman took third with 484.35 points.
Meanwhile, senior Alex Burns finished in fourth with a 475.50 and junior Jesse Rappaport placed eighth with 444.55 points and classmate Ryan Fagan took ninth with a 437.05. At the end of the competition, Carlton, Mariano and Fagan all punched their tickets to Minnesota for the 2005 NCAA Championships along with Ohio State's trio of Mitch Richeson, Nick Hanneman and Kellen Harkness as well as Purdue's Steven LoBue.
Next up, the Cream and Crimson head to Minneapolis, Minn., for the national-title meet, March 24-26.
