Boswell Earns Big Ten POW

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana left fielder Zach Boswell has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the period ending March 20, the league office announced on Monday. Boswell is the third Hoosier to win the award this season, joining Jay Brant, who won the accolade last week, and Joe Kemp (March 1).
Boswell led the Hoosiers with a .643 batting average in four games during the week, going 9-for-14, including a 5-for-5 performance with three doubles and four RBI in IU's victory over Kent State on March 19.
The junior also led the team with 10 RBI, three doubles, a 1.214 slugging percentage and a .706 on-base percentage while blasting one home run and scoring five runs as the Cream and Crimson posted a 3-1 record.
On the season, Boswell leads the team with a .458 batting average, a .763 slugging percentage and a .562 on-base percentage. Additionally, the Berrien Springs, Mich., native extended his hitting streak to nine games.
The 12-4 Hoosiers return to Sembower Field for a 3 p.m. match up against Ball State on Wednesday, March 23.
