The Cream and Crimson and the Wildcats finished the conference slate with the same record of 6-4, tied for fourth place. IU was awarded the higher seed by claiming the head-to-head meeting, 4-3, on April 2. In that match up, the Hoosiers garnered the doubles point and received singles wins from seniors Jakub Praibis and Tom Bagnato, along with junior Neil Kenner.
This will be the 10th meeting between the two squads at the Big Ten Championship. The Hoosiers own a slight 5-4 edge in the series, including a 4-1 win in the last meeting on April 24, 2003.
Illinois, who finished league play with a perfect 10-0 mark, will be the top-seed at this weekend's championship.
Previously, Indiana defeated Iowa, 4-0, in the opening session of the 2004 championships, before dropping a close decision to Minnesota, 4-3, in the round of eight.
