May Named EMU Asst. Coach

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Former Indiana men's basketball administrative assistant Dusty May has accepted a position as an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan University, announced EMU officials on Thursday, April 7. May, who worked with the Hoosiers in various capacities for a total of seven years, will be under the direction of newly-appointed EMU head coach and former Michigan assistant coach Charles Ramsey."This is a great opportunity for Dusty," IU head coach Mike Davis said. "Dusty has done a great job for us at Indiana and I am sure he will be a terrific coach for Charles Ramsey. We are going to miss him here, but at the same time, we are excited for him and wish him the best."
May served as the administrative assistant for the Hoosiers in 2004-05, and was also the video coordinator for the previous two seasons. His duties included recruiting, coordinating all on-campus recruiting and serving as the team's compliance liaison and director of camps.
During his three years on the Indiana coaching staff, May helped recruit one of the nation's top classes each of the past two seasons. He also spent four years as a student manager for the men's basketball team from 1996-2000.
After graduating from Indiana in 2000, May left Bloomington to become an administrative assistant/video coordinator for the men's basketball program at the University of Southern California. While at USC, May was responsible for the video breakdown of opponent's film, served as director of summer camps and helped coordinate the day-to-day operations of the men's basketball office. He also helped supervise support staff, managers and office workers.
May and his wife, Anna, have two sons, Jack and Charlie.
