Hoeppner on the Scrimmage

On Pancakes 'n' Pigskin:
TH: "This was a great day for Indiana football. We reinstituted Pancakes and Pigskin and underestimated the size of the crowd. I think we ran out of pancakes and sausage, but that is a good problem. We won't let that happen again. I really appreciate the turnout today and the enthusiasm for our football program."
On the scrimmage:
TH: "The players responded and played hard. We are headed in the right direction, but we have a ways to go. We are doing some things well, but some other things we are doing not so well. I will be patient and we will keep coaching them hard. We get better with each day."
On the passing game:
TH: "There is two phases to the passing game. The play-action pass part of it was pretty good today. The thing we need to work on is the drop back passing game. We are not where we want to be yet with that aspect of the passing game. You move the chains with the drop-back pass. That is probably the most complex part of our offense to learn and execute."
On the evaluation of the quarterbacks:
TH: "It is day-to-day. I keep saying that it is written in pencil. We moved them around today and rotated them with different groups."
On Chris Taylor:
TH: "Chris Taylor is a talent. He has great size and is very powerful. When he gets loose in the secondary, you better get him early, or he could be gone."
