Hoosier Signees Compete in Ohio North-South Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - A trio of Indiana signees took part in the 2005 Grange Insurance Ohio North-South Classic on Saturday, June 18. Wide receivers Andrew Means (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) and Chris Banks (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance) along with kicker/punter Joe Kleinsmith (Lakewood, Ohio/St. Edward) were members of the North squad that dominated the South, 45-17, in the 60th annual Ohio All-Star Classic. The game pitted the top graduating high school seniors in the state of Ohio at Columbus Crew Stadium in front of 5,250 spectators.
Means, a 6-0, 200-pound all-state selection, led the North with four catches for 68 yards. He also tied for the game-high honors in catches as well. Means capped his night with a 22-yard catch from Orville's Tim Hiller with 9:36 remaining in the fourth period.
Kleinsmith, the 24th-ranked kicker in the class of 2005 by Rivals.com, handled both the place kicking and punting duties for the North. He finished the game 6-of-6 on PATs and had a 28-yard field goal.
The South jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening period, before the North took over on a pair of touchdown passes. The North leads the all-time series, 33-24-3, in the longest running high school all-star game in the country.
