Ackley Joins Hoosier 2005 Class

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head men's soccer coach Mike Freitag announced the addition of midfielder Brian Ackley (Cary, N.C./Athens Drive) to the Hoosiers' 2005 recruiting class. Ackley joins a group of eight previous signees (goalkeeper Joe Andrews (St. Louis, Mo./DeSmet), goalkeeper Chay Cain (Aurora, Ill./ Waubonsie Valley), midfielder Lee Hagedorn (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North), midfielder Lee Nguyen (Richardson, Texas/Plano East), midfielder Brad Ring (Rockford, Ill./ Guilford), defender Chris Schuler (Aurora, Ill./ Waubonsie Valley), defender Kevin Sparks (Bloomington, Ind./South) and forward Darren Yeagle (Louisville, Ky./Trinity), who were announced in February. "Brian is a young man who could be a sleeper in our program out of North Carolina," Freitag said. "I watched him play a couple of times. When I say this I mean it as a compliment, he plays the game a little different. He doesn't play like everyone else. He is very good in the air and technically strong on the ground. I feel very good about his ability to get on the field for us."
