Valentin Shines in First Big Ten Foreign Tour Game

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana senior guard Cyndi Valentin and the Big Ten Foreign Tour team opened up its campaign with a dominating 119-56 win over the Netherlands National team on Tuesday night. The victory goes down in the record books as the highest point total for the All-Stars and its second-largest margin of victory in the Tour's 13-year history.
Valentin was one of seven players to score in double figures, as she netted 16 points. The Bloomington, Ind., native was on fire on the offensensive end, as she went 6-of-7 from the field, including a 4-of-5 clip from three-point range. She also recorded two rebounds and an assist.
Other players in double figures were Iowa's Crystal Smith (17), Michigan State's Victoria Lucas-Perry (13), Northwestern's Ifeoma Okonkwo (12), Michigan State's Katrina Grantham (11), Wisconsin's Janese Banks (11), and Illinois' Danyel Crutcher (10).
The All-Stars jumped out to a 62-24 lead at halftime. For the game, the All-Stars shot 48-of69 (.695) from the field, 9-of-17 from three-point range and 14-0f-15 from the charity stripe.
