Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana junior guard Roderick Wilmont sustained a foot injury during a July 12 pick up game, and will be out of action until late September. The Miramar, Fla., native had successful surgery on Thursday, July 21 to repair the damage.
"Rod has really worked hard this summer," Indiana head coach Mike Davis said. "He has made substantial strides since his freshman year and we feel he will become a pivotal player for the IU basketball team. This is a setback for him, but we expect him to make a full recovery."
As a sophomore, Wilmont played in 29 contests, starting on eight occasions. He averaged 3.6 points and 2.4 boards in 13.7 minutes a game. He was also one of the team's better shooters, hitting at a 41-percent clip from behind the arc.
