Fesenko Nabs Pair of Ukrainian National Titles

EVPATOTIYA, Ukraine - Rising junior Sergiy Fesenko nabbed a pair of national titles at the Ukrainian National Championship. The Kiev, Ukraine, product earned both the 200 and 800 free gold medals.

"I felt good about this competition," Fesenko said. "I showed pretty good times even without tapering. I have been working extremely hard preparing for the World Championships in Montreal."

Fesenko opened up the meet with a first-place showing in the 200 after clocking a time of 1:50.88, before out-touching the field in the 800 with an 8:06.78.
