McKay, Canada Pick up Second Win at World Games

Bloomington, Ind.-- The Canadian women's basketball team improved its record to 2-1 with a 71-60 win over Great Britain on Saturday.Junior Sarah McKay contributed four points and two rebounds in the win.
The win is the second in two days for the Canadians as they defeated Lebanon 75-19 on Friday.
University of Oregon's Kaela Chapdelaine of Abbotsford, B.C. led all scorers with 14 points. Holly Robertson of Cochrane, Alta. followed with 12 points, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line.
The Canadians maintained the lead for almost the entire game, falling behind only once, with eight minutes remaining in the third quarter. Chapdelaine responded with a three-point shot to put her team ahead once again.
Leading the scoring for Britain were Rosalee Mason and Kristy Lavlin with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Mason shot 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.
"I thought we played well in pieces," said Canadian head coach Stu Julius, from Wilfrid Laurier University. "We got to start knocking down some shots or we aren't going to go anywhere. The team weathered the storm and we hung on for the win."
Canada shot 33% from the field, which was not much better then Great Britain's 32%. Rebounds between the teams were also quite close with the Canadians ahead 35-33.
The Canadians (2-1) have the day off on Sunday. They compete next on August 15th at 3:30 a.m. EST (10:30 a.m. local) against Serbia & Montenegro (3-0). A win over the Serbs would result in the team advancing to the medal round.
