Big Ten Defeats Alcora, 99-82

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana senior Marco Killingsworth collected 14 points and nine boards to lead the Big Ten Foreign Tour team to its first victory in three games with a 99-82 win over Alcora in Valencia, Spain, on Tuesday. Killingsworth's presence has been made in the first three contests, as the Montgomery, Ala., native has averaged 13.3 points, which ranks second on the team, and a team-high 7.0 rebounds.
For the third consecutive game, the Big Ten led early in the contest only to fall behind, trailing 25-22 at the end of one quarter. Midway through the second, the Big Ten trailed by two, 31-29, before going on an 11-0 run to take a 40-31 lead. The Big Ten would go on to take a 44-40 lead at the half.
The team opened the second half with a 10-2 run, capped by a three-pointer from Michigan's Ron Coleman, to take a 12-point lead at 54-42. The Big Ten held a 73-65 lead at the end of the third quarter, and would go on to cruise to the 17-point victory.
The Big Ten contingent will remain in Valencia to face Pamesa Valencia Basketball Club on Wednesday before concluding the 2005 Tour against C.B. Valls Basketball Club on Thursday in Barcelona.
