BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - As the Indiana Volleyball squad gears up for its season-opener against Indiana State in the University Gym Aug. 27 at 11 a.m., members of the team will update IUHOOSIERS.com on how training is going. The third player is freshman setter Laura Holm. She talks about settling in with the hitters and her excitement for the upcoming scrimmage Saturday at 3 p.m.
Today, we pushed through two really good practices. Our intensity is really high and our team chemistry is growing each day. We also worked a lot on offense with hitters hitting lots of combinations and different sets.
As a freshman setter. it is sometimes overwhelming to be in charge of telling all the hitters where to go and what plays to run, but it's great to be in all the action! After both sessions of practice, a bunch of players stayed later to work on passing, serving and setters connecting with the hitters on different plays. I can't wait to put on the IU jersey and play for the first time at IU at the scrimmage this Saturday at 3 p.m.!
