Sophomore midfielder Amanda Oyler enters her second season as a Hoosiers. The Fleetwood, Pa. native started 14 games for IU in 2004.
The dynamic ball handler recently sat down with IUHOOSIERS.com so fans can get to know her better.
Favorite thing about IU field hockey:
The close friendships we have all developed on and off the field. I also enjoy all of the hard work we put in as a team.
How I begin playing field hockey:
I began playing in 3rd grade when my parents encouraged me to try it.
Person I admire most:
My father
Favorite athlete:
Scott Rolen. I've admired him ever since I was little, especially watching him play for the Phillies back in the day.
Favorite IU sports team other than field hockey:
Baseball and basketball
Funniest person on the team:
Haley Exner. She makes the funniest expression ever and her laugh is hysterical.
Favorite movie:
The Gladiator
Favorite sport to play:
Softball
Favorite place on IU's campus:
Kirkwood. It is so cute and there is so much to do there.
Place I would most like to travel to:
Hawaii
Pregame rituals:
I always listen to my warm-up mix on my iPod.
Best piece of advice:
Happiness is achieved by doing everything you can for others. It's all about giving.
What do you want to do when you graduate:
Move back to Pennsylvania and get a good job and coach.
How do you balance class and playing a varsity sport:
It's all about time management.
What has been the highlight of your field hockey career:
Every fall season in high school was memorable.
