IU Men Compete at ConocoPhillips Summer Nationals

IRVINE, Calif. - Rising sophomore Alec Haley and rising freshman Todd Patrick paced IU in the 400 LCM IM and 200 LCM freestyle, respectively, at the 2005 ConocoPhillips Summer National Championships in Irvine, Calif., on Aug. 5.
In the 400 LCM IM, Haley closed out the day in 35th with a time of 4:34.41. The performance now stands as the eighth-fastest time in the event in school history. It also vaulted Haley up to fifth all-time in Hoosier lore.
In the 200 LCM freestyle, Patrick claimed 41st place with a 1:53.17. That effort moved the Chesterfield, Mo., product up to sixth on IU's record chart in the event. Meanwhile, rising sophomore Lee Houchin finished 83rd in 1:58.13.
