Hoosiers Set to Host 67th Annual Indiana Intercollegiates

The Hoosiers will stay at home this season for the 67th Indiana Intercollegiates on Friday, Sept. 16th. The event will feature three races, starting with the open race at 3:30 followed by the women's 6k at 4:30 and the men's 8k at 5:15. A total of 28 women's teams and 29 men's teams will be represented at this annual meet. The Hoosier men's team has won the last four Intercollegiate titles, dating back to 2000 (The event was cancelled in 2001).Below is a breakdown of the past five years:

Community 5k Run A Success
The Hoosiers hosted a community 5k run on Friday Sept. 2 at the IU cross country course. A total of 66 runners participated, with senior Eric Redman finishing first for the Hoosiers in 16:29. IU had eight men run the event.
Experienced Roster
The Hoosiers return six seniors from last season, including William Coale, Steven Haas, John Jefferson, two-time All-American Sean Jefferson, Charlie Koeppen, and Eric Redman
Strength in Numbers
Along with the six returning seniors, there are eight redshirt freshmen making up a large part of the twenty-two man roster for the 2005 season.
Back Home Again in Indiana The Hoosiers have a travel friendly schedule this season, leaving the state only three times. The team will travel to Louisville, Ky. for the Louisville Invitational, Minneapolis, Minn. for the Big Ten Championships, and Chicago for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational.
Homegrown Talent
This year's squad is loaded with talent from across Indiana with twleve runners hailing from the Hoosier state.
