Indiana Earns No. 12 Ranking

Senior Morgan Albini and the Hoosiers earned their highest ranking in program history.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team, on target for its first ever NCAA Tournament birth, earned a 12th place ranking in the STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll announced on Tuesday.

After four convincing wins and a tough loss to the No. 1 ranked Wake Forest, the Hoosiers' No. 12 ranking is the highest any field hockey team has received in the history of the program. The last time IU was ranked near the top of the poll was in Sept of 2003 when Indiana notched the No. 13 slot.

Additionally, the Hoosiers have or will face eight of the top-20 ranked team on the Sept. 13 poll. The opponents include Wake Forest (1), Michigan State (6), Penn State (7), Michigan (8), Iowa (10), Northeastern (13), Louisville (14) and Ohio State (17).
