BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-Focusing on the upcoming game against rival Kentucky, the 2-0 Indiana Hoosiers hit the practice field in full pads Wednesday.
Practice opened up with special teams and position specific drills with the offense and defense both working on routes and defenses without any opposition. They then moved on to 7-7 drills against the scout team.
Sophomore quarterback Blake Powers hooked up with several receivers throughout the practice hitting junior Lance Bennett, redshirt freshman James Hardy, redshirt freshman James Bailey, and redshirt freshman Marcus Thigpen.
The defense made it tough for the scout team to move the ball on the ground, stuffing the run up the middle several times with a solid effort from the front seven. Senior defensive end Victor Adeyanju made it tough to run outside, making some big tackles and forcing a fumble.
The Hoosiers will be in action at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17th, at Memorial Stadium against the Wildcats (1-1). The game will be televised on ESPN Classic with Gary Bender providing the play-by-play, Bill Curry with the color commentary, and Duke Castiglione on the sideline. The game can be listened to on the IU Radio Network on 105.1, WHCC with Don Fischer
