Albini Sisters Square Off on Saturday in IU, Ohio Matchup

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior back Morgan Albini won't be the only Albini in Saturday's game against Ohio. Bobcat forward Torrie Albini will be joining her sister on the field, only this time the sisters will be playing against one another for the first time in their lives.
"I am excited beyond belief to play against her, especially since she is a forward and I am a back," Albini said "We will literally be going head to head. She is a talented player and that makes the matchup that much more exciting. I have a healthy amount of respect for her in my back pocket."
For the Indiana, Morgan has played and started every game of her career. So far in 2005, the Hoosier has taken two shots on goal and has contributed defensively to IU's two shutout victories. For Ohio, Torrie has tallied two goals and an assist in her second season as a Bobcat.
The Escondido, Calif., natives played together in junior high and then at San Pasqual High School for two seasons, but went their separate ways for their college careers.
"She is very strong and much bigger than most girls," Albini said of her sister. "She is also surprisingly fast for her size, and she has an amazingly hard hit. She is a true competitor and will fight with all she has to win."
"You can bet that both of us will be fighting tooth and nail for the victory," Albini said. "I'm just glad to know that as soon as the day is over and we walk off that field we will still be sisters and nothing can change that."
The Hoosiers and Bobcats square off on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. in Mellencamp Pavilion.
