No. 12 Hoosiers Set for Weekend Matchups

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 4-1 Hoosiers are set to take on a pair of Mid-American Conference opponents in Ohio and Missouri State this weekend in Bloomington. Indiana continues its five-game home stand on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Bobcats and on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Bears.
Scouting the Opponents
The Ohio University Bobcats are 1-4 in 2005 with their only win coming over Providence on Aug. 28. Last season Ohio was 7-15 overall and 4-6 in the Mid-American Conference, but returns 15 letterwinners, including seven starters this season. First-year coach Neil Macmillan returns the 2004's MAC assist leader in senior Erica Bundala and 2004 first team All-MAC selection Lindsay Rothenberger.
Leading the Bobcats in 2005 are freshman Estienne Coetzee with four goals and sophomore Torrie Albini, sister of IU senior Morgan Albini, with two goals and one assist on the season.
In their first season in the MAC, the Missouri State Bears have yet to add a "W" to the win column. The Bears lost in overtime to St. Louis, before dropping games to Lindenwood, Louisville and La Salle. So far this year, Melissa Millan, Sarah Wozney, Joann Westman and Amanda Miyashita have all scored one goal for Missouri State.
Last season, the Bears finished 11-9 and 3-3 in the NorPac. For 2005, Missouri State was picked fifth in the MAC.
Hoosier-Bobcat Series
Saturday marks the first ever meeting between Indiana and Ohio. The Bobcats are one of three new opponents added to the Hoosier schedule in 2005.
Hoosier-Bears Series
The last time IU and Missouri State met was on Sept. 5, 2004 in Bloomington. The Hoosiers were victorious in their first overtime game of the year by a score of 4-3. In the 73rd minute of the game, Morgan Miller scored the game-winning goal for the Hoosiers. Also tallying goals for Indiana was Mallory Reabold, Amelia Quane and Lydia Schrott. The win set the former school record for shots with 31. Senior Ryan Woolsey received Defensive Player of the Week honors for her performance against the Bears.
Who's Next?
Indiana continues its five-game home stand with its first Big Ten rival, Michigan State, on Sept. 24 followed by Lindenwood on the 25th.
