Sophomore Quarterback Blake Powers
On the team's overall play against Kentucky:
BP: "We had a great game plan for tonight. We came out and executed well. The offensive line really won the line of scrimmage and that was the difference for us tonight."
On the play of Indiana's wide receivers:
BP: "We have a very talented receiving corps. They are young, and they are only going to get better. They really played well tonight and it is a good feeling as a quarterback to know that you can throw it to any of your four receivers, and they are all going to come up and make big plays."
On the team's constant rate of improvement:
BP: "We are just trying to get better every day, and we feel like we are doing that. We are getting better with every practice and with every game. Our weakness so far has been running the ball, and we did that tonight and that just shows that when you get better every day good things will happen."
Senior Running Back Chris Taylor
On the team's success with the running game tonight:
CT: "All throughout practice we put a lot of emphasis on the run. We knew that we needed to [make improvements] in the running game, and we came out today and showed that we can run the ball and pass the ball. I was very determined, and I felt like we were going to have a breakout game tonight. The running backs all wanted to go out and produce during this game. Our challenge for the week was that we wanted to get five yards per carry, and we wanted to [prove to other teams] that we can run the ball."
On the play of the offensive line:
CT: "Every time I got the ball it seemed like the hole was wide open. They were out there, they were determined, they were fighting, and they worked to do a good job this game. I give all the credit to them."
Senior Defensive End Victor Adeyanju:
On the solid play of the defense throughout the game:
VA: "There was great energy and focus from all of the guys. We had a tremendous week of practice, and we just wanted to carry the momentum with us throughout the game. Everybody knew how important this game was against Kentucky, and we just wanted to go out with a bang."
Senior Offensive Lineman Isaac Sowells:
On the team's improvements defending the run and running the ball:
IS: "The way we went out and played today was just phenomenal. People said that we couldn't stop the run because of what Nicholls State did to us last week and people said that we couldn't run the ball because we hadn't done it in the first two games. Offensively and defensively we took it upon ourselves to stop the run and run the ball, and that's what we did tonight."
