IU Football Tickets On The Rise

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Just as Indiana is off to its first 3-0 start since 1994, there is also a substantial increase in Hoosier season football ticket sales. Overall, season ticket sales are up 38 percent from a year ago, as the current total of 18,811 is the best since 19,842 season tickets were sold in 2000. More impressively, student season tickets have increased 101 percent from a year ago, as 5,686 students own season tickets, compared to 2,832 a year ago.
For the past nine months, IU fans have seen posters, billboards and radio and television advertisements proclaiming that "Coach Hep Wants You," and "Crowds Help Win Games." The Hoosier Nation has certainly heeded their Coach's advice, but with the Big Ten campaign set to kick off Oct. 1 at Wisconsin, followed by the Oct. 8 Homecoming game against Illinois, the need for Hoosier fans to "Rock The Rock" with their enthusiasm is more important than ever.
"The students have been great," Coach Terry Hoeppner said. "I've said that crowds help win games, and our crowds have helped us win the first two home games. The atmosphere at the stadium is like our team, it just keeps getting better. We're off to a good start, but we'll need the Hoosier Nation to be there for us as we enter Big Ten play."
There were 40,240 fans at Satuday's Kentucky-Indiana game, the best attendance in Memorial Stadium since 41,404 came to the Purdue-Indiana game on Nov. 22, 2003.
