Get to Know April Levins

Junior April Levins enters her third season for the Hoosiers. The Escondido, Calif., native appeared in 17 games last season and took one shot. So far this season, Levins has played in four games and has provided both an offensive and defensive presence on the field.
Levins recently sat down with IUHOOSIERS.com so fans can get to know her.
Favorite thing about Indiana field hockey:
The team unity and the friendships.
How and why did you start playing field hockey:
In 9th grade my stepfather thought I would be good at it so I tried it.
Person I admire most:
My parents
Favorite athlete and why:
David Beckham because he has mad skills and a hot style
Funniest person on the team:
Kate (O'Connell). She always has something funny to say.
Favorite class at IU:
Guitar. It's not really a class, but I met my best friend there.
Favorite moviess:
My Best Friend's Wedding and Dodgeball
Other sports you enjoy playing:
Softball is my passion. I also love snowboarding, wakeboarding, tennis, swimming and running.
Favorite place on campus and why:
The walk from the chemistry building to the Sample Gates. It is just so beautiful and peaceful.
Place I would most like to travel to:
Africa
Person I would most like to meet:
Will Ferrell
Favorite sport at IU other than field hockey:
Men's soccer...They are unbelievable, I mean seven stars!
Pre-game rituals:
Dancing
Best advice someone has given you:
Don't take life too seriously.
Future plans:
Attend graduate school and move back home to California

What has been the highlight of your field hockey career:
The first day of collegiate practice and getting stitches.
