I have to start off with telling you about Thursday night. We started this thing every Thursday night before a home game called Hydration Olympics. We are divided up into teams and each week we have a new theme. For example my team's theme was mummies, so we pretty much just wore toilet paper. Another team's theme was hippies. Anyways you get the point.
So we all meet up at the `blue house' where five of our sophomores live and play an array of games. During the festivities, we include the drinking of Gatorade and water to help us keep hydrated for this weekend. All in all, the night is a blast with the team.
Friday morning, I woke up at about 6:50 for my only 8:00 a.m. class. I was done with my classes by 11:00 a.m. Then I headed over to the auditorium and purchased B.B. King tickets. He's kind of a big deal. After that I went and got subway before I took a little nap. The game went good considering we got a win out of it, but it was a little closer than we would have liked against Butler.
Saturday, I woke up around 9:30 a.m. and headed over to the field for a jog/stretch and game film. After that, I got to go out with my parents for some food and we hung out for a while before we went to go tailgate at the Brown's before the football game.
It was a full stadium at the game. The football game was very exciting to watch, and turns out the team is now 3-0, which is amazing.
Saturday flew by and Sunday's game was right around the corner. I woke up at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday for the game, and headed over to the Metz lounge for the pregame meal. It was delicious.
Unfortunately, this week we didn't get to watch Aladdin, but we did get to go play with some little kids at the youth clinic we were having out on the practice field. They were so cute. One little kid after he would shoot, would go get his ball and get his head stuck in the net every time. I think he liked it. It was a nice distraction and we got some laughs out of it before game time.
It was finally time to play and the weather was great. We didn't start off as good as we would have liked, but in the second half we came out ready to play. Robin Barker got her first goal of the season and so did I. It was really exciting. We couldn't have asked for anything better than the two wins over the weekend. Now we need to carry this energy over into the Big Ten season that starts this Friday against Penn State.
GO HOOSIERS!
