BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Playing in his second Nationwide Tour event, former Indiana men's golf standout Jeff Overton battled his way to a tie for 30th at the Albertsons Boise Open Presented by First Health (Sept. 22-25) in Boise, Idaho. Overton fought through at 157-player field at the Hillcrest Country Club (par 71, 6,698).
The former two-time All-American closed the tournament at 3-under-par 281. Overton opened with a 3-under 68 and produced back-to-back 70s in the middle two rounds before closing with a 73.
Former PGA Tour member Greg Chalmers nailed a 10-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole against Danny Ellis to win the event.
This was Overton's third tournament as a professional. The Evansville, Ind., native tied for 68th at his first Nationwide event, the Envirocare Utah Classic, on Sept. 8-11 and participated in his first professional tournament, the PGA Tour's Buick Championship, on Aug. 25-28.
