This is Indiana's first 3-0 start since 1994, and its first undefeated month since a 4-0 start since 1990. Should the Hoosiers defeat Wisconsin, it would mark Indiana's first 4-0 start since 1990.
Indiana entered the Kentucky game having posted five of seven scoring drives in 2:15 or less. Three of their six scoring drives against the Wildcats were four minutes or greater.
Chris Taylor rushed for a career-high 176 yards on 17 carries against Kentucky. He had 155 yards in the first half, and the Hoosiers had 305 yards as a team for the game. The last time IU had 300-plus yards rushing was when it had 327 against Northwestern on Oct. 11, 2003.
When Indiana held Kentucky to 77 yards rushing, it marked the first time since Oct. 9, 2004 (Michigan) that it held an opponent under 100 yards rushing. The 77 yards rushing is the best Hoosier defensive effort since Aug. 31, 2002, when William & Mary had -32 yards against the Hoosiers in a 25-17 loss.
Indiana's defensive performance (77 yards rushing and 140 passing) against Kentucky marked the first time since Sept. 6, 1996 (Toledo - 65 yards rushing and 86 yards passing) that the Hoosiers held an opponent under 100 yards rushing and 150 yards passing in the same game.
Indiana enters the Wisconsin game averaging 415.3 yards per game in total offense, its best effort since the 2001 club averaged 435.8 yards per contest.
Not only did Indiana post a convincing advantage over Kentucky on the scoreboard, but the Hoosiers also enjoyed a convincing 23:14 lead in time of possession. This is a new school record.
