Hoosiers Ranked 23rd in Preseason Poll

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Led by Senior All-American Jessica Gall, the Indiana women's cross-country team is ranked No. 23 in the FinishLynx/NCAA Division I poll and ranked number No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region by the Women's Cross-Country Association. The Hoosiers finished last season in the No. 24 spot.
In the Great Lakes Region, the Hoosiers are ranked behind Notre Dame, Michigan and Michigan State. Other teams of interest include, #14 Illinois, #30 Butler, and also receiving votes was Iowa.
Indiana hopes to use this recognition as a springboard into the 2005 season.
"It' s nice to be recognized in the national poll," Indiana head coach Judy Wilson said. "Having been at the NCAA Championships for the past three years, the team certainly has proven that we are a national caliber program."
Both men's and women's teams will open their seasons in Bloomington, Ind as they host the Indiana Intercollegiates on Friday, Sept. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
