Valentin, Puerto Rican National Team Drop Two to Canada

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-- Senior guard Cyndi Valentin and the Puerto Rican National team have lost two-straight games to Canada in preparation of the 2005 FIBA Americas Championships. The two teams battled in Waterloo, Ontario with Canada winning 77-54, and 70-57.

Despite the losses, Valentin has been the leading scorer with 12 and 19 points, respectively.

Puerto Rico and Canada will play two more games before heading to the FIBA Americas Championships, which begin on Sept. 14. The top four teams from the tournament qualify for next year's FIBA Women's World Cup in Brazil.
