Hoosiers Continue to Earn National Recognition

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After a strong showing at the Indiana Open, the IU track and field teams continue to earn national recognition. The Indiana men continued to maintain its top 25 ranking, while a trio of Hoosiers nabbed top 20 individual performance marks.
The Hoosier men's are ranked No. 21 in the Trackwire Top 25 Jan. 31 poll. Four Hoosiers earned Trackwire Dandy Dozen recognition in five events. David Neville maintained his spot in the list with a No. 10 standing in the 200m and a No. 7 mark in the 400m. Both Sean and John Jefferson are listed in the men's mile Dandy Dozen list at No. 1 and No. 8, respectively. In the 3,000m, Stephen Haas is tabbed at No. 8 while the men's DMR team earned a No. 10 ranking.
Neville and Ryan Ketchum can both be found on the NCAA's Performance List. Neville's 46.67 time in the 400m was good enough for No. 2 on that event's list. Ketchum finds himself in the No. 20 spot after throwing an impressive 17.91m (58-9.25) at the Indiana Invitational on Jan. 21.
On the women's side, Stacey Clausing ran the 400m in the 11th fastest time in the country with a time of 54.31 at the Indiana Invitational on Jan. 21 against Big Ten rivals Purdue and Ohio State and in-state foe Indiana State. Additionally, the St. Mary's, Ohio product ranks third in school history in the event.
The Hoosiers are back in action in their fifth home meet of the season on Feb. 3-4. The two-day meet begins on Friday at 3 p.m. in Gladstein Fieldhouse and carries over to Saturday with events starting at 11:50.
