Along with head coach Tracy Smith and assistant coaches Ty Neal and Micah Nori, the Indiana baseball team also welcomes 12 new players to the 2006 roster. In the coming weeks, IUHOOSIERS.com will feature each IU newcomer. After catcher Billy O'Conner took his turn in the spotlight, catcher Jason Dew is up next.
Dew was all-county, a team captain, an all-state tournament champion and an AAU Junior Olympic/CABA/Super Seven World Series champion during his high school career at Walton High School in Marietta, Ga. The 6-0, 185-pound backstop holds the fourth-best single-season batting average in school history at .475 and was a three-time East Cobb Most Valuable Player for his summer league club. Dew also weight lifted at Walton.
The son of Robbie and Terri Dew has one brother, Josh, and plans to study business at IU. Robbie was a member of the IU golf team from 1978-80.

Yes, he was a great player and deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
Should college baseball switch to wooden bats?
I think it would make the games more exciting if teams used wooden bats.

Coming to Indiana gives me an opportunity to play, and I love the campus and atmosphere.
