Hoosiers Announce Spring Trip Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana baseball team announced its schedule for its annual spring trip on Jan. 5. IU will play seven games in seven days from Sunday-Saturday, March 12-18 in Bradenton, Fla.
The Hoosiers will open the trip against Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m. on March 12 before taking on Northern Iowa at 2:30 p.m. on March 13. Indiana will battle Bradley at 10 a.m. on March 14 followed by a matchup with Fairfield at 3 p.m. on March 15.
On March 16, IU will face off against Eastern Kentucky at 10 a.m. prior to a showdown against Vermont for the third straight season at 10:30 a.m. on March 17. The Hoosiers will close out the trip under the lights at Ed Smith Stadium, the spring training home of the Cincinnati Reds, when they take on the Flames of Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m. on March 18.
In addition, IU announced a schedule change. The May 10 Indiana-Valparaiso tilt will now start at 7 p.m. and will be played at U.S. Steel Yard, home of the Northern League Gary SouthShore RailCats.
First-year skipper Tracy Smith and the Hoosiers open the regular season with a three-game set at Charlotte on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 24-26. The season opener is scheduled for 4 p.m. with single games taking place on Saturday and Sunday at noon.
