During the 2006 season, IUHOOSIERS.com will give women's soccer fans an insider's look at what it's like to be a member of the team. Every Tuesday, a different Hoosier will bring her view of the weekend's events to IUHOOSIERS.com. The entry for Tuesday, Oct. 10, is by senior Megan Pipkens.
Well, there's not much for me to write about this weekend. Since we had a game on Wednesday, we had only one game this weekend. But it was a big game! Friday we practiced on the game field. It wasn't a real long one; we just wanted to keep our legs loose. Saturday we went and cheered on the runners at the Hoosiers Outrun Cancer race. It was a really nice day to be outside giving our support and there were so many amazing dogs to look at!
Coach gave a little pep talk to the runners before the race. He told them that they were all winners. Oh, and that we were all winners too! I think it really got them going. Anyways, after the race I met up with my parents and we went to Nashville, Ind., for the day.
I told a few people what I did on Saturday when they asked and they were shocked that I would spend it in Nashville. It's hard to explain if you haven't actually been there. There are tons of cute little shops (shops you would like if you were a mom trying to decorate your home), restaurants, and even horse carriage rides. There are always tons of people there walking around listening to the music and just enjoying being outside.
Sorry this blog is not too interesting. I told you there wasn't much to write about this weekend. Saturday after Nashville, my parents prepared a steak dinner for me and some friends and then I went to bed to get a good night of sleep before the BIG game.
It was a good game on Sunday. If you weren't there, you should have been. We could have won, but we'll take a tie.
