10 Questions With Charley Traylor

Junior back Charley Traylor is a key member of the Indiana defense. He sat down with IUHOOSIERS.com to answer a few questions about himself.
Since coming to Indiana, I've learned:
I've learned about time management and how to contribute to a team.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Going up to our cottage in Michigan, vacationing with my family. Its on Lake Michigan, and golfing is the big activity that we do on vacation.
What is your favorite soccer memory?
Winning the national championship in 2004, and playing in front of 15,000 people.
Describe your presence on the field. What do you bring to the team?
I think I bring energy and hard work. I just try to fit my role of a back on the team.
Why do you wear number 15?
It was the number given to me when I came to IU. My dad had a bunch of shirts made with the number 15 on it, so I couldn't switch it after my freshman year.
What makes Indiana special from any other program?
The history of the program and the involvement of the alumni with the program. It's second to none in the country.
What are your goals for this year?
My individual goals are to contribute to the team as much as I can everyday, and to get the most out of soccer for one of my last years here.
What do you like best about Coach Freitag?
I like his personality. He knows when to bring out his funny side and when to bring out his serious side. It really helps with the team attitude. He gets us in the right frame of mind.
What are your pre-game rituals or superstitions?
I really don't have any. I usually come up with one and then it ends up bringing me bad luck, so I've never really had one stick.
Something that many people don't know about you is:
I'm a dog lover. We just got our dog recently from the pound, named Brotie. It's been occupying most of my time, besides soccer. It's a German Shepherd/Huskie mix. We love to take her to the park.
