Honors Keep Rolling In for Exner

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior goalkeeper Haley Exner earned her second weekly honor as womensfieldhockey.com named her the Division I Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1. The San Diego, Calif., native also earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Exner turned in an impressive performance against Iowa and Ohio State in goal for the Hoosiers. The San Diego, Calif., native held the Hawkeyes scoreless until 67th minute, recording seven saves in the win.
She followed that performance with an even better one, tallying an impressive season-high 11 saves against No. 5 Ohio State. The Buckeyes, who threatened offensively for the majority of the game, out shot IU 14-6 and took 13 penalty corners, but were only able to slip one goal past Exner in 70 minutes.
Additionally, the website ranked the Hoosiers No. 8.
Indiana returns to action on Friday, Oct. 6 as they travel to Louisville to take on the Cardinals at Trager Stadium. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. (ET) and can be followed live on GameTracker.
