Coach's Corner With Mike Mayer

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Before heading to Zionsville to host the Wolf Run Invitational, head coach Mike Mayer took the time to speak to IUHOOSIERS.com about the upcoming tournament.
His thoughts on the tournament:
"We are looking forward to hosting this event at Wolf Run Golf Club in Zionsville. Wolf Run should be an outstanding venue for a collegiate golf tournament. This is the first intercollegiate event to be held at Wolf Run and it will be interesting to see what kind of scores are shot."
On sophomore Jorge Campillo:
"Jorge is coming off three outstanding tournaments and he is playing very well heading into this event. He plays tough golf courses very well and Wolf Run is as tough as they get. Jorge might be primed for a win this weekend."
On sophomore Seth Brandon:
"Seth had a very good outing a couple of weeks ago at Mattaponi Springs and we are looking for him to continue his good play. He also plays tough golf courses well and Wolf Run should play right into his game."
On sophomore Drew Allenspach:
"Obviously it was great to see Drew re-emerge in our last tournament in Virginia. He's getting more and more confidence in himself and his game and we look for him to continue to play well."
On junior Santiago Quirarte:
"Santiago needs to step up for us this weekend. He is such a big part of what we are about and his play so far this season as been sporadic at best. He has played very well at Wolf Run in the last couple of trips we've made up there in the past week or so and he has been working hard on his swing. If Santiago plays well the team will play well."
On senior Tad Sacheck:
"Tad Sacheck gets his first ever start in the top five for us this tournament. He's played in one tournament (Hoosier Invitational 2003) as an individual but this is his first chance in the top five. Tad has been playing very well this fall and deserves this opportunity. Wolf Run is his home course and he knows the layout better than anyone in the field."
On freshman Alex Martin competing as an individual at the tournament:
"Alex will play as our individual and it is great to get him another start. We thought Alex did a very good job for us in our last start counting in two of his three rounds and really helping the team. He continues to adjust to college life and collegiate athletics and this opportunity should help him continue to grow."
