IU Baseball to Host Second Annual Holiday Academy

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Head coach Tracy Smith and the Indiana baseball coaching staff will host the second annual Indiana Baseball Holiday Academy on Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 27-29. The Academy will be held at the Mellencamp Pavilion on the IU campus.
Several instructional sessions for players of all ages will be offered. Below is a breakdown of events:
Parent/Child Practice Tips: one hour of valuable instruction on how to work with your child at home to further develop baseball skills. One parent/guardian per child. Wednesday, Dec. 28: noon - 1 p.m. $30 Available to any age
Catchers' Corner: one hour of instruction for catchers. Thursday, Dec. 28: noon - 1 p.m. $30 Any age
Baseball Camp: a focus on skill development for all facets of the game. Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 27-29: 9 - 2 p.m. $125 Ages 6-13 only
Hitting School or Pitching School: to hone skills and learn new techniques. Wednesday-Thursday, Dec. 27-28: 1 - 2:30p.m. $50 Ages 12-16 only
Prospect Clinic: a college style workout for evaluation of baseball "tools" and potential for college play. Friday, Dec. 29: 1 - 4 p.m. $75 '06, '07 & '08 High school graduates only
Personalized Instruction: will be offered for small groups (3 - 4) with an instructor. Each session is one half hour and you choose the skill to work. Wednesday, Dec. 28: 8 - 9 a.m. $20/$35 Any age
Additionally, the IU coaching staff is available for private instruction. Details can be discussed at the end of the Academy.
Players should wear athletic clothing and bring bats, gloves and gym shoes.
