As part of an ongoing online series, IUHOOSIERS.com will highlight each week in Indiana athletics history. This week will highlight Nov. 23-27.
Nov. 23, 1992 - Bob Kennedy claimed his second national title when he ran a 30:51.3 in the 10K at the 1992 NCAA Championships. Kennedy capped off his career at IU as a two-time national champion and a four-time All-American.
Nov. 23, 2004 - Indiana's men's soccer team opened its 2004 NCAA title run with a 1-0 win over Michigan. The win propelled the Hoosiers through the tournament and College Cup en route to program's seventh national championship.
Nov. 25, 1968 - The Hoosier football team recorded a 19-14 upset win over Purdue in the regular-season finale. The win clinched the Big Ten title and secured the Hoosiers' initial postseason bid - a trip to the Rose Bowl and a tilt against the top-ranked and O.J. Simpson-led Southern California.
Nov. 25-26, 1994 - The Indiana women's basketball team opened the season with back-to-back wins over Southern Methodist (69-63) and Nebraska (83-80) en route to the Nebraska Classic Tournament title. The pair of wins was the beginning of a 10-game win streak for the Hoosiers.
Nov. 25-27, 2002 - The Indiana men's basketball team opened the 2002-03 season with three straight victories en route to the EA Sports Maui Invitational Championship at the Lahaina Civic Center. The Hoosiers upended Massachusetts (84-71), No. 20 Gonzaga (76-75) and Virginia (70-63), as Bracey Wright became the first freshman since North Carolina's Joseph Forte (1998) to win tournament MVP honors.
