BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - As a courtesy to fans attending Saturday's Michigan at Indiana football game (3:30 p.m. kickoff), the IU Department of Athletics offers the following tips:
• Due to periodic construction on US Route 37 and heavy traffic on Indiana State Route 46, fans are advised to arrive as early as possible.
• Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the IU Athletic Ticket Office (1-866-IU-SPORTS) or by referring to the official website of the Indiana Department of Athletics, iuhoosiers.com. In addition, ticket booths on both sides of Memorial Stadium, as well as the north lobby of Assembly Hall, will open at 9 a.m. Saturday in order to accommodate those fans looking to purchase tickets on gameday.
• Memorial Stadium parking lots will open at 9 a.m., and the gates will open at 1:30 p.m.
• At 1:30 p.m., the Hoosier coaches and players will take the Walk To The Rock for the final time of the 2006 season. Saturday's game marks the last home game for 21 IU football seniors, and each senior's parents have been invited to join their son on Saturday's Walk. Seniors and their parents will also participate in a special pregame recognition ceremony.
• In honor of Veterans Day, the Indiana National Guard from Shelbyville will provide a UH-60 Black Hawk flyover at the conclusion of the national anthem. Participating crew members are a proud group of patriots which include veterans who served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, and have provided support to Hurricane Katrina relief in Mississippi and Louisiana.
• At halftime, the Department of Athletics will recognize its 2006 Hall of Fame inductees - Alan Henderson (basketball - 1992-95); Jon McGlocklin (basketball - 1963-65), Dave Power (tennis - 1964-66), Mike Smith (baseball - 1989-92), Erika Wicoff (golf - 1992-96) and Indiana alumnus and legendary sportscaster Dick Enberg. Unfortunately, Henderson is unable to attend this weekend's ceremony and will be formally inducted when his schedule allows.
