BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, IUHOOSIERS.com will recognize top academic performances by Hoosier student-athletes with the IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week award. For the week ending Feb. 12, sophomore diver Christina Loukas earned the honor as selected by IU Athletics' Academic Services.
"Christina continues to not only work hard at the pool, but also in the classroom," Indiana head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber said. "She epitomizes the term student-athlete and we are very proud of her."
Loukas recently declared a major in exercise science in the HPER school and is taking a rigorous class schedule each semester that is extremely labor intensive.
"Christina is a sophomore who started the front end of her college academics strongly and is continuing to improve," academic advisor Scott Maxwell said. "Christina is a delight to work with and I have no doubts that she will maintain her current ways."
