BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, IUHOOSIERS.com will recognize top academic performances by Hoosier student-athletes with the IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week award. For the week ending Oct. 8, senior men's golfer Tad Sacheck earned the honor as selected by IU Athletics' Academic Services.
"Tad has worked very hard on and off the golf course," Indiana head men's golf coach Mike Mayer said. "This recognition shows the level of his commitment to this program."
Sacheck, a native of Zionsville, Ind., tied for 42nd place with a total score of 237 (81-78-78) at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate last weekend in his first tournament of the season.
According to academic advisor Linda Tatum, Sacheck is committed to both his on-course success as well as his efforts in the classroom. "It's really impressive to see seniors like Tad continuing to work hard and do well in involved science and math courses," Tatum said.
